Brad Ryan
Bio:
Brad grew up in southern California where being outside, surfing, fishing, and backpacking was how free time was spent.  Wanting to make a career in the outdoors, Brad attended San Francisco State University, and earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Zoology in 1992.  That same year he moved to New Mexico and later started as a Conservation Officer for the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish.  The next 25 years was spent working with and for the wildlife of New Mexico.  Brad feels very fortunate to have had many incredible opportunities to observe the vastly different areas and creatures of this amazing state.  Not wanting his adventures to end with retirement, Brad took up photography in a more serious manner about 2010.  Now he spends his time seeking out new places and new species, discovering interesting and unique ways to showcase the wildlife and wild areas that are all around us.

Artist Statement:
“The beauty and grandeur of the natural world has inspired me all of my life.  Being in the presence of wild animals and wild places has always brought me great joy.  Whether it be an exciting encounter with a large predator or a peaceful sunset over a quite river, the moments spent during these times have left some of the most enduring imprints on my memories.  This what I hope to convey to viewer of my photographs.  I hope to give you the feeling of being there in the moment so that it will bring back a memory of a similar experience or instill a desire to go out and create one.”
